About MedZec

Founded in July 2023 by James Randall, MedZec emerged from the practical needs of our own family medical clinic. Our mission was clear from the start: to reduce inefficiencies such as missed appointments and to harness technology for tasks best suited to automation. This focus quickly extended to supporting the broader medical community, particularly smaller clinics often ignored by larger software corporations.

Our journey has revealed a gap in understanding by younger software designers, who prioritize instant digital access in ways that can inadvertently risk a clinic's operations. MedZec's solutions, therefore, steer clear of high-risk, bad medicine features like two-way texting that only increase malpractice risk and perpetuate a 'bits and pieces' approach to healthcare.

As clinic co-owners, we leverage our firsthand experience to craft software that addresses the real-world challenges of medical clinics. Our approach is deeply collaborative, involving ongoing dialogue with a multitude of clinic managers to refine and tailor our offerings. This has allowed us to offer effective automation tools at a fraction of the cost charged by major software firms. Making essential services like appointment scheduling, patient reminders, automatic collection of copays and balances, form documentation specific to appointment and recently an easy and highly efficient drive through flu and vaccine clinic automations*. The solutions are both efficient and a fraction of the half-helpful off the shelf costs.

A landmark achievement for us has been the full automation of our front office—a role traditionally deemed indispensable and resistant to automation. This breakthrough has led to an annual savings exceeding $50,000, fundamentally changing how we operate. The financial flexibility gained from this achievement enabled us to increase our support staff wages by 20%, positioning us as the top paying employer in our segment. With this new standard, we expect unparalleled quality of work and have found that recruitment challenges, and enabling less than 100% contributions, become a thing of the past.
